What We Have

The Photo Archives photographic collection provides a window to the past. The collection of over 20,000 historical photographs from the 1840s to the 1990s documents the people, landscape, businesses, organizations and events in Schuylkill County.

The photo collection is accessible by visiting the library reading room Wednesday – Saturday (list hours of operation). If visiting is not possible, research requests can be submitted on the Research Request Form. An in-house database is available when visiting SCHS in person. Visitors will view the actual historical photographs. The Rights and Reproduction Service can provide reproductions for study, display, publication or commercial uses.
