Broad Mountain Mystery

In April of 1925, the charred remains of a young female were discovered on Broad Mountain near the village of Gordon. Despite a police investigation spanning several years-- an investigation which took detectives on a wild goose chase through the seedy underworld of organized crime-- the killer has never been caught, and the victim has never been identified.

Marlin Bressi will give a presentation on this fascinating Schuylkill County mystery.

A native of Kulpmont, Bressi is the author of six nonfiction books, including the Pennsylvania Oddities book series by Sunbury Press. His work, which focuses on true crime and unsolved mysteries, is heavily inspired by the Coal Region; some of the stories featured in his previous books include the 1937 crime spree carried out in Mount Carmel by Walter Strantz and Joseph Yorkavage, the history of "Peddler's Grave" near Shenandoah, and the hanging of notorious outlaw Michael "Red Nose Mike" Rizzolo, who terrorized Luzerne County in the late 19th century.
